Si la entidad está CERTIFICADA significa que a la fecha de la Auditoría de Certificación la entidad cumplía con todos los requisitos de la Familia de Normas COPC®. La condición de RECERTIFICADA se obtiene luego de una Auditoría de Recertificación anual, y para ello a la fecha de la auditoría la entidad debe cumplir con todos los requisitos exigidos. Las entidades que se encuentran en la etapa de SOLICITUD DE CERTIFICACIÓN tienen contratos con COPC Inc. (o uno de los Socios de Implementación o Licenciatarios de COPC Inc.), han establecido una fecha para la auditoría y han iniciado formalmente el Proceso de Certificación. Muchas compañías que han solicitado la Certificación no desean ver sus nombres publicados hasta tanto no la hayan obtenido, por eso el número de sociedades que han presentado su SOLICITUD DE CERTIFICACIÓN es mayor que el que aparece en esta lista.
Asimismo, COPC reconoce a las firmas como USERS. Los usuarios deben cumplir al menos uno de los siguientes criterios: (1) un centro de contacto interno que utilice los enfoques, métodos y métricas en forma consistente con la Familia de Normas COPC®; y (2) un comprador de servicios que incorpore COPC a los procesos de suministros y evaluación de terceros.
Existen cientos de empresas y de ubicaciones geográficas. Más de 1.200 coordinadores en 30 países han obtenido la designación de Coordinadores Registrados COPC®, luego de asistir a una rigurosa sesión de capacitación de cinco días y aprobar un examen con un puntaje mínimo de 90 por ciento.
